Founder
George E. Perrin
Founder
George entered the life insurance business in 1949, training as an Estate Planner with Aetna Life. George later left branch management and returned to independent sales in 1967.
His company is believed to have been the first life insurance and annuity brokerage office in Canada. This move enabled multi-company representation to clients, which is now the industry standard. George believed that being a broker meant providing the best solution at an affordable cost.
George served on many industry-associated boards including Advocis (Ottawa) and CLU (Ottawa), and was a Founding Director of the Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting (CALU) and the Ottawa Estate Planning Council. He also supported community service organizations including the Kiwanis Club (Ottawa), the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Kiwanis Medical Foundation, and Queen’s University Alumni.
George passed away in 2014 after a 65-year career.
Barbara Perrin
President
Barbara Perrin has more than 45 years of experience in the life insurance industry and has dedicated her career to helping families protect what matters most. Born and raised in Ottawa, Barb joined her father in the family business in 1980 after working with Sears Canada in the credit and collections department. Her experience dealing with debt and financial challenges gave her a strong understanding that unexpected financial curveballs can happen to anyone, and reinforced the importance of thoughtful planning and protection.
Known for being a strong listener with a compassionate approach, Barb helps clients navigate important financial decisions with clarity and confidence. She focuses on providing practical recommendations and simplifying complex choices so families can build a stable and secure financial future.
Barb has also been actively involved in both industry and community service throughout her career. Her past and present involvement includes Advocis (National and Ottawa), the Andrew Fleck Childcare Centre (Director), the Bruyère Foundation Board (Director), the Rideau Club Board (Director), the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa Board (Director), and the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa Medical Foundation (Trustee).
